What are 8 Easy Touch-ups for a Show Ready Home?

Getting your home ready to put on the market can be a job in itself.  But nothing gives a better impression than a fresh coat of paint.  Before you place your home on the market consider completing these touch-ups.

  1. 1.     If you want a prospective buyer to consider your home, make sure your front door has a fresh coat of paint to avoid seeing any nicks or touch up the paint at the very least.
  2. 2.     Buyers will get the initial glimpse into your home by seeing your entrance hall first. Make sure you touch up areas there the paint shows marks and chips.
  3. 3.     Bathrooms can often receive extra scrutiny, give them extra attention.  Touch up or repaint as needed.
  4. 4.     When it comes to your kitchen, size does matter.  Make your kitchen look bigger by painting the walls white or off white.  If you cannot repaint, remove food stains from walls, and touch up paint.
  5. 5.     Touch up any wood work that is chipped or marred.
  6. 6.     Inspect all areas that come in contact with soiled hands such as wood frames, door frames, edge of doors, and walls around light switched.  You may be able to clean the area but if you cannot, touch them up with paint.
  7. 7.     Scrub cabinet doors clean of fingerprint or touch them up with paint.
  8. 8.     Be sure to touch up any water stains on your ceiling as those can be a deal breaker for potential buyers.
