Spring is here and summer is right around the corner which means time outside will become more and more. Having a great outdoor space can add value to your home and create a new space for your family to enjoy but what type of deck is right for you?
- · Attached- This is the most common deck style and is usually built in the back of the house where it can be raised or level with your yard. It can also give you an easy in-and-out access to your home.
- · Island- This free-standing deck can be installed away from the house and out of the yard. The island can be decorated with clusters of trees or allow you to relax by a pond or flower garden.
- · Floating- A floating deck is built on a platform above the ground with the foundation and structure hidden underneath. It is low to the ground and can work on uneven or rocky terrain.
- · Wraparound- A wraparound deck covers more than two sides of your home and allows you to take advantage of multiple views.
- · Multi-level- These decks are perfect for yards with steep slopes, uneven terrain or for homes with two or more stories. They are usually connected by a series of stairs or pathways and can create several spots for entertaining.
- · Around a Tree- Consider building a deck around a tree to add style to your yard. This type of deck is similar to an island deck in that it’s not attached to your home.
